Patient-Centred Care

The Institute of Medicine defines patient-centered care as: Providing care that is respectful of, and responsive to, individual patient preferences, needs and values, and ensuring that patient values guide all clinical decisions.  In short, more than a set of activities, patient -centeredness is a way of thinking and doing things ‘with’ and ‘for’ the person, rather than something that is delivered ‘to’ patients. The clinical studies showed that Recovery Tech VR game-based rehabilitation as a Patient-centered virtual reality program could notably assist in the functional recovery of people after a stroke.
