Case Presentation #17

A 58-year-old female, hypertensive, presented two days following COVID-19 symptoms. Her complaint was left hemiparesis and gaze. Investigations showed elevated D-dimer, ferritin, and inflammatory markers; CT chest showed intermediate probability of COVID-19, and CT brain was normal. Follow-up MRI showed right MCA territory infarction; patient was transferred to isolation unit and discharged after 3 weeks. She was referred to a outpatient rehabilitation centre where she received conventional therapy and VR therapy for 12 weeks, 3 sessions/week .In this program, Recovery Tech specific games created based on principles of physiotherapy was used. By the end of therapy period, motor performance of upper extremity improved significantly and she was ready to return to her normal life and doing most of her ADL independently.
