Case Presentation #18

A 50 year old police officer presented in the sport medicine clinic with a three week history of right shoulder pain.His pain was worse at night and was brought on when he raised his arms above his head and eased as soon as he stopped the painful movement. On examination there was some restriction of movement in the shoulder. Speed test, Neer test and Empty can test were positive. He was diagnosed with shoulder impingement syndrome and referred for conventional treatment with VR therapy by the physical therapist. He received conventional therapy and Recovery Tech VR game based rehabilitation for 4 weeks, 5 sessions/week. By the end of the therapy period, ROM of shoulder significantly improved, VAS and DASH scores increased, Pain threshold increased and he completely satisfied from the rehabilitation program
